Comprehensive School Safety Plan

Valley View Middle CSSP 2024-2025

Valley View Middle School is committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for students and staff. Our school administration and security staff ensure that all exterior gates are locked at the beginning of classes and remain locked until the end of the school day. Only the main entrance to the school is accessible during the school day and this entrance is monitored at all times.

The safety and welfare of our students and staff are our highest priorities. To provide our students the opportunity to practice emergency response procedures, our students and staff participate in a periodic emergency preparedness drills.  These drills prepare the school community for emergencies and disasters such as fire, earthquake, lock down, and shelter in place.  The goals of the training drills are to improve the school’s ability to protect students, save lives, and reduce injuries.   As part of the drills, the students and staff participate in the activation of our school’s Safe School Plan.

Please make sure that all contact information for your child is current at school, so that in the event of an actual emergency, we can reach you.

In the event of a Fire, or Earthquake students are evacuated to the Assembly Area which is located on the PE Field.  Our student Request/Reunion Gates are located on Walnut Ave. and in Houghtan-Schreiber Park adjacent to the PE Field.  Parents may request their student be released from school by presenting ID and filling out a Request Form.

During a Lock Down, or Shelter In Place, all students remain indoors in a safe and secure location until law enforcement gives the school an all clear notification.  The school will send parents and guardians updates via phone message as soon as possible.
