National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle school students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginnings in 1929.

Students, if you desire to become a member of NJHS, you must do the following:

  • Maintain your cumulative GPA of 3.5 with S/O in Citizenship and Work Habits
  • Complete the NJHS Application by Friday, February 9, 2024 by midnight (turn in on GC) Download on google classroom class code: hqnteat.
  • Complete 5 points of approved community service using the Community Service Log (turn in on G.C). Download on google classroom class code: hqnteat.
  • Write a Community Service Reflection Essay following the guidelines provided in google classroom
  • Turn in the community service log and essay by WednesdayApril 17, 2024 by midnight. (Turn in on G.C.)
  • Attend one Induction Ceremony Rehearsal on WednesdayMay 15, 2024 from 2:30-3:30 pm in the VVMS Gym.
  • Attend the Induction Ceremony on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the VVMS Gym.

The induction ceremony is a special event dedicated to honoring the NJHS students and will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Valley View Gymnasium. Parents, extended family, and close friends are invited to attend and watch their NJHS member participate. Please mark your calendars for all these important events.

Please remember that all forms need to be turned in by the date assigned no later than midnight to Google Classroom. We recommend that you turn in your forms early. If your form is turned in late, you will not be eligible to become a member of National Junior Honor Society.
