Principals' Message

Dear Valley View Middle School Community,

Valley View Middle School maintains a commitment to preparing students to have the knowledge, skills, integrity, and character necessary to be successful in high school and beyond.  Our focus is to bring our community together to provide outstanding programs that offer opportunities for our students to perform at the highest level in academics and in co-curricular activities in ways that help students reach their fullest potential.

At VVMS, we want our students to take PRIDE (Positivity, Respect, Improvement, Diligent, which leads to Excellence) in their scholastic career and take responsibility in the academic studies.  We pursue this on our campus through the three R’s, Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships.  Our educators pursue excellence in the classroom through engaging curriculum and learning with a purpose.  The teachers work collaboratively to build the essential standards that our students need to know to be prepared for high school.

The final R is relationships.  A strong focus on our campus creating connections with our students.  We welcome about half of our student population each year so it is imperative that we create those connections from day one.  Whether it is an administrator speaking with our students in between periods or teachers standing at their doors welcoming students to their classrooms, or our campus supervisors helping our students with their lockers, our focus is on the social and emotional learning of our students.

Effective communication and a strong alliance with our parents are a priorities at VVMS.  We believe that a strong partnership between home and school leads to a student’s success.  We utilize multiple communication methods to work with our parents and research shows that if there is parental involvement in schools, students will gain at least a year’s growth, if not more in a single year.  Finally, our PTSA has a strong foothold within our community and works with our teachers and staff to create the best environment for our students.

We look forward to working with all of our families in the upcoming year.
